Welcome!
Nevada is home to a rich and diverse network of Tribal Nations and Native communities, including the Waší∙šiw, Numu, Nuwuvi, Newe, and Pipa Aha Macav, whose history and culture are deeply rooted in this land. The Secretary of State’s Office honors the sovereignty of Nevada’s Tribes and their contributions to the state.
This page provides information and resources for both Tribal governments and Indigenous community members. Including services related to elections, economic development, and fraud protection, this reflects our commitment to building and maintaining government-to-government relationships with Tribal Nations. Whether you are a Tribal leader, native entrepreneur, a voter or a community member, this page is designed to help you connect with the work of the Secretary of State’s Office.
Our Commitment
The Secretary of State’s Office affirms the sovereign status of Nevada’s Tribes and is committed to meaningful relationships built on respect, communication, and transparency. These relationships are guided by the following principles:
- Respect for Tribal sovereignty, cultural traditions and customs, and self-determination.
- Consultation with Tribal governments to better understand the matters that affect their communities.
- Collaboration to develop materials and services that meaningfully assist Nevada’s native community.
The Office recognizes that Tribal governments are sovereign entities with the inherent authority to govern their own affairs. We are devoted to honoring that status in every aspect of the work from each of our divisions.
The Secretary of State’s Office published the 2025 Tribal Liaison report, highlighting a momentous year of Tribal engagement. Read the report and more here.
