Nevada State Corporate filings and State Business licenses, A non-Title7 (NT7) business is a sole proprietorship or general partnership doing business in Nevada that is not required to file its organizational documents with the Office of the Secretary of State. NT7 businesses doing business in the state of Nevada are required to maintain a State Business License unless specifically exempt. 

A Title 7 entity (e.g., Domestic Corporation, Limited-Liability Company, etc.) is an entity organized pursuant to the laws of Nevada that has filed formation documents with the Office of the Secretary of State. Title 7 entities are required to file an Annual List of Officers or its equivalent and include domestic and foreign-qualified corporations, limited liability companies, limited partnerships, limited liability partnerships, limited liability limited partnerships and business trusts. Each entity must maintain an active State Business License or Certificate of Exemption.

Marks, such Service Marks, Trademarks and Trade Names  under the provisions of  Chapter 600 of the Nevada Revised Statutes may be filed online via SilverFlume for a faster turnaround.  Also, all forms may be obtained online from our forms page. Service of Process, pursuant to certain statutes, the Nevada Secretary of State may be designated as agent for service of process through an appointment of consent for subpoenas and court documents. An appointment should be submitted to the Secretary of State and may be rejected if it:

• Does not contain authorization and a forwarding address
• Is not acknowledged before a Notary Public
• Does not set forth a specific statutory citation
• Is not accompanied by the filing fee

If an appointment is made for business services, but is not a business service request, the appointment and filing may be rejected upon arrival.

Domestic Partnerships

(Expedited service only)

As per NRS 122A, a “domestic partnership” in Nevada is a civil contract which grants domestic partners “…the same rights, protections, benefits, responsibilities, obligations and duties as…parties to any other civil contract….” 

Expedited processing of a Declaration of Domestic Partnership is available.  There is an additional $100 fee for expedited service.  In-person expedite appointments are available in the South Las Vegas office only. Expedite filings may be mailed to the South Las Vegas office.  They will be processed the same day they are received.  Enclose a pre-paid return envelope for fastest return service.  All domestic partnership processing is done in the North Las Vegas office.  A Declaration mailed to the Carson City Secretary of State office is forwarded to the South Las Vegas office for processing. 

The Office of the Secretary of State cannot advise partners about the legal or financial implications of entering a Domestic Partnership.
